First Day of School 2007-2008!

Can you believe that it is already time to head back to school? It's always sad for me to say goodbye to summer! Some of my favorite memories are from just those three short months. Well, Abbey started First Grade and Chase Fourth! Needless to say, they were very excited to begin a new year at Newton Elementary. Go Navigators!

Big Bear Lake, CA Vacation!

When August rolled around, we packed up with Grandpa and Grandma and headed for the hills! We spent six glorious days in a cabin that we rented through bbcabins.com (only $100.00/night for an eight man cabin). It was peaceful, serene, but best of all, TONS of FUN!!!! The pictures of the view were taken from our deck. Daily temperatures were from 36 degrees in the morning to a high of 78! We fished, shot guns, took long walks, grilled, went to the local zoo, road a pirate ship on the lake, and just enjoyed being with one another! We are definitely going to become regulars at this little hiding spot!

Since the Month of May . . .

Since the month of May, Reagan became fully potty trained! Temperatures in the city of Las Vegas had record breaking highs of over 117! Abbey graduated from Kindergarten! And, Uncle Craig (Scott's brother) stayed with us during a three week internship for Judge, Mike Villani, here in Vegas! All, of which, we were very excited about :o)

The Month of July

July was busy! It began with the 4th with our traditional Boulder City Parade, then over to the pool with some friends to cool off. We ate a huge feast with a group of friends while the kids swam some more! We concluded the evening back in Boulder City w ith their spectacular firework show. We visited the newly opened Spring Preserve Museum in Las Vegas! We were so excited. We love science and we love being outdoors and it has both. It is amazing! The Springs Preserve is a 180-acre non-gaming cultural and historical attraction designed to commemorate Nevada's history and to provide a vision for a sustainable future. We had a BLAST! It always helps to bring along Grandpa and Grandma to add just that extra spark of excitement!

Summer Has Arrived!

My favorite season, for none other than the fact that we get TO PLAY, is Summer! Today is the first day of school for the 2007-2008 school year and it has been fun to be able to reflect on all of the things we did during the HOT season. Have a look for yourselves! These pictures were taken up at Red Rock Canyon at the Bonnie Springs Ranch where they do Broadway shows all summer at their outdoor theater. It was a beautiful night. The temperature was perfect and the bats were out for dinner (a major plus for Chase!)

School Came To a Close

Well, school finally came to a close with award ceremonies and certificates. Chase's artwork (1 out of 100 pieces for the Southeast Region) was displayed at our District's Southeast Regional Center. He also earned two medallions for Reading and Writing. Abbey's artwork (1 out of 25 pieces for Newton Elementary) was chosen to be framed and displayed at the school. Abbey also received medallions in Reading and Writing. It was a fun year with amazing teachers and great new friends. See Ya Next Year!
